Our times of meeting together are wide-ranging in style and character, which reflects something of the unity and diversity of our church family.

The earliest record of a Baptist Church in Dalkeith was a fellowship founded around 1820. According to the Baptist Union of Scotland, on 14th March 1852 a new church was born.
The church is believed to have met in the Old Tollbooth opposite St Nicholas Parish Church in the High Street before it moved into a new building on London Road in 1871. The fellowship Joined the Baptist Union of Scotland in 1884. In the early 1900’s, instrumental music was first introduced to a Sunday service in the form of an organ.

In 1972 Midlothian county council prepared road proposals for the centre of Dalkeith which would have meant the compulsory purchase of the church and its surroundings. Moves were started to seek a new suitable site. A new home was found in North Wynd, then known as relief place home to the former relief place church.

The new church building was opened and dedicated in April 1981. During this period new ministries started up including toddlers, girls brigade, senior citizens and big focus on Sunday school with over 150 children regularly attending each week. In 1994 the music ministry was changed considerably with the introduction of a praise band to help lead worship.
